From a practitioner point of view, understand what it means to practice Classical Yoga according to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Understand and experience the Solar, Lunar and Fire practices relating to the Nadis, Chakras, and Kundalini of Hatha Yoga. Top it off with an overview of Tantra, the non-dual path to beauty and bliss. Practices include: asana, pranayama, bandha, mudra, agni sara, nauli, kriya and meditation.

Completion of this 50 hr module will apply to the 300 hours required by Yoga Alliance for your 300 Hr Advanced certification; 50 CEUs.

Heart, Hips, and Relationships: Looking at Relationships from a Yogic Point of View

We are always in a relationship, be it partner, parent, sibling, spouse, friend, food, money, or our own bodies. These relationships are gateways to take us to the Yoga of Relationship - the union of our “Big S” self and our “little s” self. Lean into the path of love as we explore the dharma of relationship.
 
Bring your questions and your yoga mat. Class begins with discussion and dharma talk followed by an asana, pranayama, and mediation practice to open your hips and heart facilitating an appreciation of self love, love for others, and love for this very special path of Relationship.

The 200-Hour Sri Yoga Teacher Training Program begins Friday, June 12th, 2015.

To become a 200-hour certified Sri Yoga instructor we now have a brand new training schedule! First, join us for the 100-Hour immersion training from June 12 - 21, 2015 in Mount Shasta. Following this intensive will be a set of five weekend practicums. You can register for the full 200-hour training together or separately. 

This Yoga Sadhana Immersion will be held in Mount Shasta, California, and is  open to anyone who would like to deepen their practice and have an intensive yoga experience. Held at the powerful Stewart Mineral Springs, this training covers Ayurveda,  Doshas, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Chakras, Bandhas, Agni, Tantra, Hatha Yoga, Prana Vayus and Kundalini. The 5 weekend practicums will be held in the San Francisco/San Mateo area and are open to anyone who has taken the Sadhana Immersion in June, or has completed a 200 Hour teacher training and would like to get more practicum experience.

Through daily asana, pranayama and meditation practice, experience the transformational power of the 5 Prana Vayus as you begin to viscerally understand how the flow of Prana works in your body. In this Core Module, you will dissect the energetics of asana and learn how to combine the appropriate pranayama and meditation techniques in order to create specific physical and energetic results. You will also deepen your understanding of the Gunas and Doshas and their role in asana energetics, providing you with tools to realize your full potential as a yoga practitioner and teacher. 

Open to the public for advanced study. Completion of this 50 hr module will apply to the 300 hours required by Yoga Alliance for your 300 Hr Advanced certification;

Koshas: Untie the Story That Binds

Understand how the 5 sheaths of consciousness–Koshas–really work. Using asana, pranayama, and kriya techniques, you will unearth the unconscious material stored in the mind. Gain a deeper understanding of Sankapla, Vikalpa, Vasana, and Karma. This course introduces advanced meditation and Vichara/Svadyhya techniques to clear this material so you can shine as a yoga teacher both on and off the mat. With this experience and awareness, you will be more equipped to guide your students in their yoga journey.

The Art of Transmission Part 1: The Alchemy of Body and Spirit

Patanjali talks about sukha, “good space” and dukha, “bad space” inside our body/mind. Deepen your understanding behind the science of asana and learn how to clear your space in order to be a more effective conduit for joy (jyoti) and resplendence (sri).

Increase your sensitivity and begin to more easily access your “inner voice of truth.” This deep listening brings an increased level of self-healing and clarity, as you learn how to transmit the teachings of yoga, both on and off the mat.

Integrate your highest Self more fully into every aspect of your life and fulfill your life’s purpose with confidence. More advanced pranayama, meditation, and healing techniques will be introduced, with an emphasis on the experiential aspects.
  • Tantra as alchemy: understanding and application of Tantric teachings and techniques
